Framework

I’m fond of the fall.
Not the one that could lead to
pain, broken bones, or a strain.

The time of year when the leaves change
color and leave the branches behind.

When the trees that once provided
late afternoon shade became the
framework of early evening sunlight fades.

A picture perfect dusk with crisp cool air.
Football games, tailgating, and
elephant ears from the state fair.
