Tears

Just when she thought she’d cried her last tear, it happened again.

But this time was unlike any other time she cried before.

She was crying with an open heart that wasn’t rejected.

She was crying with all her love and it wasn’t mishandled.

She was crying without fear and she wasn’t being made a fool of.

She was crying with freedom and she wasn’t imprisoned with disregard.

She was crying tears of joy.

Tears that when they fell they drowned disappointments and disparities.

Tears that when they fell they watered a garden of possibilities and hope began to grow.

When she cried tears of joy, hurt and fear where no more.

When she cried tears of joy, happiness finally found its way home.
