Breathe In
I took a deep breath in and remembered that
each breath we breathe is an opportunity
to take in what’s around us.
We have the choice to stay in that environment or
to advance where the air is more pleasant,
and scents match our desires.
The taste for more was ignited by my taste buds
and stimulated through my veins
until the sensation reached my fingertips.
The desire became a craving.
The craving became a want.
And the want became a need.
My hands won’t rest until I get my hands on
the opportunities that are all around me.
I breathe differently now as I remember that
each breath I breathe is a breath of opportunity
that will never be taken for granted again.
