Opportunity Knocks
When opportunity knocks,
it might not be as aggressive as
the knock of our needs and wants.
We pray for ears to hear.
So, whether it comes as a light tap
or pounding rumble—we will answer.
When opportunity enters the room,
it may be unrecognizable because
it looks so different from what we were anticipating.
we pray for vision.
So, whether it comes whole or in pieces
—we see what’s in front of us.
When opportunity knocks,
we may not be able to sense it because
our hearts may have become hardened
from the disappointment of phantom knocks,
we’ve answered before.
So, we pray for an open heart
that we may be able to receive.
When opportunity knocks,
we pray to be ready this time around
because it may never knock again.
