we travel on the same path
convinced that it’s our lane

steadily heading down a road
without any deviation
certain that this is the right direction

guided by a borrowed
and outdated map
we stay the course

never questioning where we are heading
or if the roads have changed

until the moment when we
begin to look around and
see the opportunities that
we are passing by
