Fifty years from now
they’ll dig up a time capsule
and inside they’ll find what was most important
during a time when tools became crutches
and creativity appeared to be a burden—for some.

Inside there will be a letter
that a father wrote his son
telling him how proud of him he is.
A holiday card from a wife to her husband
letting him know how special he is.

A bracelet a daughter made for her mother—
her first craft done all by herself.
And a photograph that a husband set on auto
to capture the image of his family’s first road trip.

The best way to shape our future
is preserve memories
that will inspire
for generations to come.
