Second Chances

Can second chances
still exist in climates where
canceling is the culture?

Have we gone too far,
when making people
pay for their mistakes?

Do we understand
what grace truly is,
or do we only practice it
when blessing our food?

Are we as willing
to bless others?

What happens when we
need a second chance;
then will we be
more understanding?

  1. This was so throught-provoking to read and brought to mind one of my favourite quotes from bell hooks: “For me, forgiveness and compassion are always linked: how do we hold people accountable for wrongdoing and yet at the same time remain in touch with their humanity enough to believe in their capacity to be transformed?” This was beautifully written; thank you for sharing it!
